The GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator program promotes modern solutions to protect nature. One of the winners of our competition is Ekoinwentyka. Dr. Eng. Damian Kasperczyk, President of the Management Board of Ekoinwentyka sp. z o.o., told us about the company’s successes. We invite you to our article!
Could you tell us about Ekoinwentyka sp. z o.o. – what is the profile of the company, what do you do and how long have you been the winner of the GreenEvo program?
Ekoinwentyka sp. z o.o. is a dynamically developing Polish company established in 2011. It implements its own innovative solutions in the field of air protection on the market. The main activity is the protection of the environment and people against the negative effects of industrial activity.
We have been in the GreenEvo program since 2022 with the technology of Compact Three-Phase Bioreactors. We offer a tailor-made installation for biocleaning of air from VOCs and odors in Compact Three-Phase Bioreactors (polish:KBT). Ekoinwentyka is a company based on continuous development. Our activities include research and development, laboratory testing, engineering, project management and after-sales service. Research and development activities are the key to our success, because we want to achieve new solutions in the field of biotechnology and flexibility in a wide range of pollutants and applications.
Could you tell us more about the technology offered by your company in the GreenEvo programme?
The KBT technology is an innovative solution that uses biodegradation processes that occur naturally in nature with the participation of microorganisms. It is characterized by a high degree of ecological efficiency and significantly lower costs compared to other technologies. The process is carried out at low temperature (30°C) and atmospheric pressure, thanks to which the costs of the process are low. What’s more, the KBT installation is fully automated, which allows remote control and process control.
We offer the implementation of a tailored installation that takes into account the types of pollutants and their concentrations generated in the production process, which provides the reduction required by applicable regulations.
The recipients of our technology are plants struggling with the problem of excessive VOC and odor emissions, e.g. paint shops, waste management plants, sewage treatment plants, wood, chemical and petrochemical industry plants.
Why did you decide to apply for the program?
Ekoinwentyka sp. z o.o. was established in 2011 as an engineering company dealing with air protection, in particular the industrial use of odor bioelimination processes, including hydrogen sulfides (H2S, NH3) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The results of many years of biochemical reduction of VOC pollutants on a semi-industrial scale have led to the development of a technology that can be used in industry. Recognition for the developed know-how of scientific authorities in the country, as well as business practitioners, resulted in obtaining funding for the company from the European Union (EU).
The implementation of many research and development projects, including those financed from the EU, allowed the implementation of technologies in various industries and the development of cooperation with research and development units. The gradual development of the company through the implementation of projects, participation in international conferences and fairs has strengthened our position on the Polish market of green technologies and has shown the implementation potential also on foreign markets. We joined the Green Technology Accelerator because the program offers organizational and substantive support from the Ministry of Climate and Environment, Embassies of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. Participation in GreenEvo strengthens the company’s credibility and helps in establishing business contacts, which are very valuable from the perspective of a developing micro-entrepreneur.
How do you rate your participation in the GreenEvo program?
The KBT technology for bio-purification of air met with great interest on economic missions in Mexico, Dubai, Australia and Colombia. These are markets open to new technologies and cooperation. However, there are some barriers that make contact difficult. Participation in missions and the possibility of face-to-face meetings facilitate contact and eliminate barriers such as distance and time difference, enable us to learn about the needs of foreign markets and strengthen our brand recognition. Participation in economic missions has helped us establish cooperation with scientific units, which increases the development potential of our company. The GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator program opens up huge opportunities and increases the export potential of Polish companies.
Can you tell us about the largest or most interesting foreign contract that your company has managed to conclude?
This is the second year of the company’s participation in economic missions carried out as part of the GreenEvo project. At the moment, the company is negotiating and signing cooperation agreements with the following companies: Infinite Water (Australia), Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (Dubai), Distribuidoray Comercializadora Kloer (Mexico), Quimi corp. (Mexico).
Mission trips have opened up additional opportunities for us in establishing contacts, e.g. with business environment companies and universities. In June this year, GreenEvo’s economic mission to Colombia took place, as part of which we participated in a conference co-organized with Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia and in the FIMA International Fair of Environmental Protection in Bogotá. During the opening ceremony of the Polish stand, we signed a cooperation agreement with the Mexican company Quimi Corp Internacional regarding the transfer and implementation on the Mexican and South American markets of air biopurification technology from VOCs and odors in Compact Three-Phase Bioreactors (KBT).
Currently, talks are also underway at various levels of advancement with at least a dozen or so other entities. Contacts during trips abroad were obtained at B2B meetings as well as at fairs and other business meetings and we hope that they will be successful.
Undoubtedly, behind-the-scenes talks seem to be the most effective and fruitful, but they would not take place without meetings organized by the Ministry.
Polish green technologies worth their weight in gold
Ekoinwentyka sp. z o.o. is another example of a huge success of a Polish company on the international arena. The technology offered by the company has already found recognition outside the borders of our country. This only proves that Poles are well versed in the area of environmental protection and successfully create solutions that are designed to help protect the climate.
