Water resources management and energy quality management systems

Systems for water management and energy quality management are of key importance in monitoring and optimising the management of technical infrastructure, especially in the face of changing weather conditions and the need for sustainable development.

  1. Water management systems: Designing, integrating and providing systems for monitoring river water levels and supervising hydrotechnical infrastructure is a key area in water management and modernization of hydrotechnical facilities. Such systems include technologies for monitoring water levels, water flows, the condition of hydrotechnical facilities (such as weirs, locks, barrages, dams) and provide early warning of flood risks. The technologies used in these systems may include:
    • Water level sensors – used to detect changes in water levels in rivers, lakes and other water bodies.
    • GPS and geolocation systems – help to precisely monitor the location of equipment and water levels.
    • Telemetric systems – enable remote data collection in real time, which allows for quick operational decision-making in case of changes in water levels.
    • Data analysis – software for processing meteorological and hydrological data, which allows for forecasting changes in water levels and managing flood risk.
  2. Power quality management: In the context of energy management, especially with regard to renewable energy sources (RES), the instability of power sources such as photovoltaic panels or wind power plants is a major challenge. Such systems can generate unstable voltage, which introduces changes in the quality of electricity. Therefore, it is extremely important to introduce systems that monitor and manage energy quality:
    • Monitoring energy quality – used to detect and eliminate disruptions in the energy supply, such as voltage fluctuations, harmonic distortions, signal distortions.
    • Voltage stabilisers and compensation systems – to manage the instability of the voltage generated by renewable energy sources and improve the power quality.
    • Integrated energy management systems (EMS) – to optimise energy consumption, forecast demand and control devices in real time depending on the availability of energy.
    • Batteries and energy storage systems – to balance fluctuations in the energy generated from renewable sources, ensuring grid stability.

Advantages of the solution:

  • Early warning of flood threats – thanks to continuous monitoring of water levels and flows.
  • Remote monitoring of hydraulic infrastructure – e.g., dams, barrages, and retention reservoirs.
  • Precise measurements thanks to water level sensors enable the rapid detection of changes in the aquatic environment.
  • Integration with GPS and geolocation systems – enables the precise location of devices and measurement points.
  • Real-time telemetry data viewing – enables rapid operational decision-making.
  • Advanced analysis of meteorological and hydrological data – supports forecasting and risk management.
  • Support for the modernization of hydraulic facilities – improves the efficiency and safety of water infrastructure.
  • Power quality monitoring – detects interference, voltage fluctuations, and signal distortions.
  • Improved power supply stability from renewable energy sources – thanks to voltage stabilizers and compensation systems.
  • Integrated EMS systems – optimizes energy consumption and controls devices in real time.
  • Energy storage – batteries that smooth out fluctuations in renewable energy production, increasing grid reliability.
  • Compliance with sustainable development requirements – supporting the efficient use of renewable energy sources.
  • Scalability and flexibility of implementation – the ability to adapt systems to various geographic and infrastructure conditions.
  • Reduced risk associated with voltage instability – improving the quality of supplied energy.
