The Smol Power Iron LTO is an innovative energy storage system that allows for easy customization to user needs thanks to its modular design. Its capacity is 6 kWh, voltage is 48V, and power is 6 kW, providing a high power-to-capacity ratio (1 kW/kWh).
Distinguishing Features:
- Scalability and Modularity: Allows the addition of battery modules, distinguishing it from closed systems like Tesla or LG Chem, and allows for flexible adaptation to growing needs.
- Advanced Thermal Management: The 15mm aluminum housing provides improved heat dissipation, eliminating the risk of overheating and increasing durability. Research indicates that improved thermal management can extend battery life by up to 20%, which is crucial for long-term operation.
- LTO Batteries: We use improved lithium-titanate batteries (an international collaboration between our engineers and Gree AltairNano), offering 30,000 cycles, no risk of ignition, and resistance to extreme temperatures (-50°C to 65°C), significantly exceeding the performance of LiFePO4 (10,000 cycles) and NMC (6,000 cycles).
- Advanced BMS: The BMS and EMS system with a 2A balancer effectively equalizes the cell charge, extending their lifespan and stability. This also surpasses standard market solutions, such as those from Tesla and LG Chem, which offer a significantly lower current balancer of 0.1-1A. • Highest Capacity Efficiency: Allows for a power-to-capacity ratio of 1:1, 2:1, or even 3:1, meaning more power with less capacity. For example, at 6 kWh it can deliver up to 12 kW or even up to 18 kW of power, which is measurably important for applications requiring fast discharge.
Advantages of the solution:
- The ability to add additional battery modules as needed, providing flexibility and an advantage over closed systems (e.g., Tesla, LG Chem).
- Up to 30,000 charge/discharge cycles, no risk of ignition, and resistance to extreme temperatures from -50°C to +65°C.
- The 15mm aluminum housing effectively dissipates heat, reducing the risk of overheating and extending battery life by up to 20%.
- A power-to-capacity ratio of up to 3:1 is possible (e.g., 6 kWh → up to 18 kW of power), ideal for applications requiring rapid discharge.
- Efficient cell equalization significantly exceeds market standards (e.g., Tesla, LG Chem).
- No risk of ignition and high weather resistance increase system reliability.
- Thanks to its compact design and flexible configuration, the system can be used in a variety of environments – from home to industrial applications.
