BDT treatment plants (grey sewage treatment plants) are designed for gray utility water with single or multi-family buildings. “Grey wastewater is fecal-free water (according to the European Standard 12056-1). In practice, this is non-industrial wastewater produced during water treatment, including washing dishes, bathing or laundry, may be useful to a limited extent for reuse. In a household, 50-80% of waste water can be used as gray water. Almost all the water that is used at home, from the translation of water after flushing the toilet, is suitable for use.
The system consists of: a primary settling tank, equipped with filters limiting the penetration of solid elements, and a bioreactor – equipped with a biofiltration bed, the active part of the treatment, where the removal of factors takes place.
Advantages of the technology
The BDT system is easy to install and use. Installation does not require the device to be connected to electricity. All physical, biological and hydraulic processes take place passively without the need for external stimuli. The operating costs of the treatment plant are minimal and are limited to annual inspections of the device and possible cleaning of mineral suspensions and a small amount of organic matter. The procedure is identical to the operation and maintenance of a traditional household sewage treatment plant.
Technology recipients
The recipients of the technology are house construction companies; single-family and multi-family houses, boarding houses, hotels, etc. The Company’s clients in this area are also specialized installation companies dealing with the assembly of water and sewage systems in construction. As part of its current operations, AQT Water conducts professional training for specialized assembly teams. Trainings are organized periodically, once a month at the Company’s headquarters or directly at the headquarters of cooperating companies, also abroad.
Informacja o wdrożeniach, w szczególności zagranicą The BDT system has been supplied to the Scandinavian market, in particular the Swedish one, since 2018. The systems are installed in facilities with a large share of gray sewage (boarding houses, hotels) and in places where collective sewage systems are not available. In Poland, due to the need to use a dual sewage system, BDT treatment plants are installed mainly in newly built facilities.
