„GreenEvo – Technology Accelerator” has been supporting Polish entrepreneurs since 2009 in the transfer of modern environmental technologies to foreign markets. The Ministry of Climate and Environment supports companies like PROTE Technologies for our Environment LLC, whose ambassador, Mr. Jerzy Ślusarczyk, recently joined us for an interview.
What does PROTE Technologies for our Environment do?
Jerzy Ślusarczyk: Our company has been working to protect the natural environment in Poland and around the world for over 26 years. PROTE’s activity is primarily related to environmental research and remediation, which is a technology for removing contaminants from the soil and water environment. Our goal is also to improve the safety and quality of drinking water, improve water and wastewater management, optimize the operation of water supply networks and rehabilitate water reservoirs.
Which of your company’s accomplishments are you most proud of? Numerous awards and certificates which PROTE has received from independent juries, confirm the high quality of our services. For example, we have won the title of a laureate of the Polish Promotional Emblem “Teraz Polska” four times.
PROTE is a triple laureate of the „GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator” program. The company was awarded this honor for the first time in 2011 for the PROTE-fos service, then in 2014 for the PROTE-MOS service, in 2020 the company received the GreenEvo Certificate for the SYMBIO Biomonitoring System.
The PROTE company has also been awarded in numerous other categories. Two of these prestigious awards include: four time winners of the Gold Medal of the Poznan International Fair, and the award of the TIWS Fair in Kielce.
The proof of the high quality of PROTE’s services is also the fact that we are constantly improving the Integrated Management System so that it is compliant with the requirements of the standards PN-EN ISO 9001:2015-10, PN-EN ISO 14001:2015-09 and PN-ISO 45001:2018- 06.
How does PROTE benefit from being awarded in the GreenEvo program multiple times?
During over 10 years of participation in the program, we have taken part in 28 economic missions to countries all around the world. The fact that the company is supported and recommended by the Polish government raises the rank of our activities in the field of environmental protection. The Ministry specifically appreciated three of our technologies that are promoted as top Polish green solutions ready for export.
PROTE’s close cooperation with the Ministry of Climate and Environment facilitates the promotion of its business both in Poland and abroad. We have an open invitation to various world-wide industry events. What’s more, the collaboration with the Ministry has helped to build our company’s reputation as a trusted international business partner, which is important especially in the case of projects that we plan to start in Egypt and Oman.
Can you tell us more about these projects?
In November 2022, PROTE and its partners signed a contract with Rusayl Industrial City LLC for the implementation of the PROTE-MOS Sludge Minimization/Modification technology awarded in GreenEvo at wastewater treatment plants in Oman. The signing of this contract is a direct result of the company’s participation in the GreenEvo program. It is thanks to the recommendation of the Ministry of Climate and Environment and the support of the Ministry in the promotion of our solutions abroad that the company has gained a trustworthy reputation on the international market, and the technologies offered have been recognized as worthy of attention. Advanced talks are currently underway to sign a contract for the use of PROTE-MOS technology and SYMBIO Biomonitoring Systems in Egypt.
How has participation in the program influenced the development of the company?
One of the biggest advantages of being a winner of the GreenEvo program is the opportunity to gain valuable contacts around the world. A perfect example of a success that would not have been possible without GreenEvo was signing the cooperation agreement with Eko Network from Canada in 2015. Currently, this company is a representative of PROTE Technologie dla Środowiska sp. z o.o. for the markets of the Middle East and North Africa. In 2022, another cooperation agreement was signed, this time with Membracon, which represents PROTE in the UK.
Participation in the GreenEvo program has opened many doors for us, especially on the Indian market, where there is a huge demand for water and wastewater technologies. Our solutions, i.e. PROTE-MOS sludge minimization and processing it into fertilizer PROTE-POS, have been positively evaluated by the Environment Technology Verification Program and a good chance of being implemented as part of the cGanga project.
Thanks to GreenEvo’s economic mission to Egypt, during which we accompanied President Andrzej Duda, we made site visits to a number of sewage treatment plants in the area of the Cairo agglomeration.
