New green technologies wanted – the launch of the 8th edition of the GreenEvo programme

The Ministry of Environment (now the Ministry of Climate) launched the recruitment of participants for the 8th edition of the GreenEvo – the Accelerator of Green Technologies programme. The winners of the competition – suppliers of new green technologies – will receive educational and substantive support and their solutions will have a chance to appear on foreign markets. The deadline for submitting applications ends on November 20th, 2019.

GreenEvo – the Accelerator of Green Technologies, an innovative programme of the Ministry of Environment (now the Ministry of Climate) searches for the best environmentally friendly technologies – innovations “made in Poland” – and helps them to develop abroad.  Within the framework of six editions, launched in the years 2009-2015 the programme jury chose a total of 74 solutions, which in their opinion deserved financial support. In 2018 all previous winners were reevaluated and a further support was granted to 33 entrepreneurs offering 34 environment technologies.

It has already been 10 years that through the GreenEvo programme we have been supporting the companies offering technologies bringing tangible benefits for the environment protection and commercialising verified solutions to operate in international markets, prepare competitive technological offers to be transferred and as a result to gain international partners.” – explains the deputy Minister of Environment Sławomir Mazurek.

At present the programme goes back to its original formula, which means the recruitment of brand new green technologies from 8 sectors:

  • Renewable energy sources;
  • Green technologies in the mining industry;
  • Solutions supporting energy savings;
  • Systems helping to monitor and gather information on natural environment;
  • Technologies supporting climate protection;
  • Technologies supporting waste management;
  • Water and sewage technologies;
  • Low-carbon transport technologies, electric vehicles and energy storage.

The applications can be submitted until November 20th, 2019. Afterwards, the applications will be subject to formal and then substantial verification.  In the beginning of 2020 the jury will choose 20 technologies, which comply to the largest extent with the assumptions of the competition. The winners of the 8th GreenEvo edition will be able to benefit from free workshops regarding in particular support tools available in Poland and abroad, cultural divergences, presentation techniques, marketing and sales or intellectual property protection. They will also have an opportunity to present the awarded solutions during foreign economic missions financed within the framework of the programme.

As we have seen during the past decade the winners have been achieving tangible results: they have been developing, their sales have been growing, they have been investing in research and development and they have been successful in competing on foreign markets. We are happy that the number of winners will soon be bigger and that more innovative solutions that are a response to modern challenges with respect to environment protection and sustainable development will have an opportunity to be popularised” – said Sławomir Mazurek, the deputy Minister of Environment.
