Innovative ways of government support are key to unlock UNIDO’s potential – said on April, 29th Ms Olga Mamedovic, Chief of Europe and NIS Programme at UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). Her speech opened special conference at UNIDO’s seat in Vienna. The conference’s aim was to identify potential cooperation fields between Polish Ministry of the Environment and UNIDO.
The first presentation in the agenda concerned GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator. Ms Agnieszka Kozłowska-Korbicz, Head of the Project, not only described the project’s idea and its main achievements but also shared Polish experience in supporting green technology producers, especially small and medium companies. All the GreenEvo Winners, selected in a specifically designed contest, are among to the most innovative companies all over the world in the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, waste management, water and waste-water treatment, air protection and biodiversity protection.
Afterwards, high representatives of UNIDO presented the organisation’s procedure and areas of interest, incl. resource efficient and cleaner production, agri-business development, as well as renewable energy and energy efficiency. The participants also discussed how to best combine GreenEvo’s and UNIDO’s experience and potential.
