Minister of the Environment visits Finland

Ecological innovations in the Baltic Sea region – this was the topic of the seminar with the participation of the Ministers of the Environment from Poland – Prof. Andrzej Kraszewski and Finland – Paula Lehtomäki. The meeting took place on 12th October this year in Helsinki.
The participants of the seminar discussed, among others, the issue of Baltic Sea Action Plan. They also brought up the issues related to financing environmental protection by Narodowy Fundusz Ochrony Środowiska i Gospodarki Wodnej (National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management) in Warsaw. The meeting provided also an opportunity to promote the project by the Ministry of the Environment, GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator, the aim of which is to support international activity of Polish pro-environmental technologies. Ten of thirteen Polish companies – ecological innovators selected by the Ministry of the Environment within the project – presented their green technologies.
The seminar was preceded by a meeting of the Polish delegation headed by Minister of the Environment Andrzej Kraszewski with the Finnish Minister of the Environment Paula Lehtomäki. The topics of the talks included the issues concerning climate change, protection of the Baltic Sea and issues related to the International Environmental Governance (IEG.)
