On the 3rd April Polish-Belarusian Business Forum took place in Minsk. Many honourable guests participated, including Min. Katarzyna Kacperczyk (Under-Secretary of State, Polish MFA), Min. Andrzej Dycha (Under-Secretary of State, Polish Ministry of Economy) and Min. Aleksander Gurianow (Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Belarus). It was the first such an economic event since 2009.
GreenEvo was an absolute must during the Forum, as one of the leading topics of the event was cooperation in the field of green technology. Polish offer was presented by Ms Agnieszka Kozłowska-Korbicz – the Head of the GreenEvo Project. She described both formula and ideas of the project run By Ministry of the Environment which aims at supporting Polish innovative green technology providers. Moreover, GreenEvo Winners (ASKET, Makroterm, Redor, Izodom 2000 Polska, Hydroergia, Frapol and URSUS companies) also participated in the Forum, as well as representatives of Belarusian, business, administration and authorities.
‘The meeting was a great opportunity for discussing our economic relations up to now as well as signing new agreements between the two countries’, commented Ms Kozłowska-Korbicz.
During the stay, Polish delegation visited also Belarusian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Hosted by Min. Vladimir Tsalko, Polish representatives discussed potential of Belarusian biomass market and chances for implementing the technologies supported by GreenEvo project. The project itself is very well known in Belarus. Our companies’ successes are widely admired. Thusly, the hosts were very interested in adapting project’s mechanisms for Belarusian purposes.
Last but not least, meeting with EBRD, EC and World Bank officials took place. The Polish delegation, headed by Min. Kacperczyk and Amb. Leszek Szerepka, debated over possible use of foreign funding for developing Belarusian economy, especially in terms of environmental protection and green technology transfer. As already experienced by GreenEvo Winners, such a support may be an efficient catalyst of environmentally friendly technological modernisation.
