Architectural accessibility

Address: Ministry of Climate and Environment, 52/54 Wawelska Street, 00-922 Warsaw.

The main entrance to the headquarters of the Ministry of Climate and Environment is located on the side of Reja Street. In front of the entrance to the Ministry there is a ramp for wheelchair users. In the main hall, on the right, there is a reception and a security point. The reception desk is adapted for people with physical disabilities by lowering part of it to the height of a person in a wheelchair. After registering at the reception, each guest receives the so-called Guest Card (pass) entitling them to enter the facility. Guests are brought to the meeting point accompanied by the person with whom they had an appointment. In the main hall at the reception there is an induction loop for the hearing impaired. There is a wheelchair at the reception for people with reduced mobility.

You can enter the Ministry building with an assistance dog.

The corridors and elevators are adapted for the disabled. The buttons in the elevators are described in Braille. Some elevators are equipped with a hands-free system that informs about the position of the elevator and its stop on a specific floor. The panes of glass doors and other large-area glass elements are marked with contrasting stripes. Contrasting colour and variable texture were used to distinguish the beginning and end of the ramp; the beginning and end of the flight of stairs in front of the entrance to the building and stairs in the stairwells, in the corridors on the ground floor and on the upper floors at the beginning and end of the slopes of the floor levels. Doors and passages have a minimum width of 90 cm, taking into account the manoeuvring area, allowing a disabled person to use the passage. Most entrances to office spaces do not have thresholds. Those that have them have been marked in a contrasting way, and pictograms have been used at the doors. On each floor there is at least one toilet adapted to the needs of people with physical disabilities. In the courtyard of the Ministry and in front of the building, on Reja Street, there are designated parking spaces for the disabled. When dealing with matters in the office, you can use the help of a sign language interpreter or a guide interpreter. It is enough to report such a need at least 3 working days before the scheduled visit to the office, except in emergency situations.
