One of the most important aspects of caring for the environment is improving waste management. For this purpose, numerous technologies are being developed to increase the efficiency of waste segregation or processing. One of the companies that has taken up this challenge is Idealbin Sp. z o.o., another winner of the tenth edition of the GreenEvo – Technology Accelerator competition. Mrs. Luiza Bortkiewicz, a representative of the board, told us about the company. We invite you to read the interview!

Could you tell us about the company? What do you do, what is the profile of Idealbin’s business and how long has it been since you became the winner of the GreenEvo competition?

Our company, Idealbin, became the winner of this year’s tenth edition of the GreenEvo – Technology Accelerator competition. We create modern solutions for waste management. As part of our activity, we have created a special system of intelligent garbage containers. It is a response to the need for waste segregation and recycling, which is limited by factors such as poorly designed garbage shelters, infrequent collection of waste, lack of education and the fact that the waste collection site is not adapted to the needs of people with disabilities or the elderly. In order to improve waste management, after analyzing solutions used elsewhere in the world, we have created a technology that will streamline the entire process.

Why did you decide to register your company for participation in the GreenEvo program?

The GreenEvo program has a long tradition, it has helped many winners to succeed on the international market. In the competition, the size of the company or previous export experience are not important. What does matter is the technology offered, and whether it supports the sustainable development and the process of building a circular economy. The idea of ​​GreenEvo is therefore consistent with the mission of Idealbin, as a start-up actively working for the environment.

How do you rate the program? What do you value participation in GreenEvo for?

Despite the fact that we have been in the program for only a few months, you can already feel that they are intense. We have already participated in specialized training aimed at preparing for participation in trade missions, as well as in the field of building a sales strategy, patent protection, or raising funds for research and development. Our representative was also part of the delegation of the trade mission organized in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Rome. Therefore, we can confidently say that we rate participation in the GreenEvo program as very good. We value it primarily for supporting and promoting Polish enterprises that create green technologies.

Please tell us about the largest or most interesting contract you have concluded.

We hope that this biggest and most interesting contract is still ahead of us. The plan of trade missions for 2023 looks impressive. We have analyzed the countries to which the missions are planned to be launched. After we verify their markets in terms of opportunities and threats for the transfer of our technology, we will decide which of these missions we would like to take part in. We hope to soon be able to boast of success abroad, and maybe even on other continents!

Polish technologies for each area of ​​environmental protection

The GreenEvo program deals with the promotion and transfer of Polish green technologies, which are designed to improve many environmental protection activities. That is why the system of intelligent garbage containers, designed by Idealbin, was appreciated in the competition. This gives great opportunities for promotion outside the country and popularization of modern solutions in the field of environmental protection practically all over the world. Green technologies receive the GreenEvo brand mark, which they can use to promote their systems in every corner of the globe.
