GreenEvo – the Ministry of the Environmentâs project, was nominated for the prestigious European Public Sector Award 2013. The competition aims at promotion of innovative public initiatives of the EU countries on the international arena
The EPSA competition has been organised since 2007 by the European Institute of Public Administration. This yearâs edition is entitled âWeathering the storm – Creative solutions in a time of crisis”. This year, 230 projects from 26 Member States were submitted for the competition. 47 were qualified to the next stage. Spain, Poland, Italy, Portugal and Romania submitted the greatest number of projects.
The GreenEvo project was submitted in the âEuropean and National” category. Announcement of winners is scheduled for October this year. We are still weeks away from decision on the results. But, we are already proud of Polish innovative companies that predetermine the success of GreenEvo. On the one hand, these companies create new, environment-friendly work places in Poland, on the other – they contribute to solving environmental problems around the world – said Marcin Korolec, Minister of the Environment.
The EPSA competition has been organised since 2007. Around 1,000 public initiatives and projects have been collected under the project. They constitute a rich base of valuable experiences and knowledge for public administration workers of the EU countries.
So far, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFEPWM) as a Polish public institution has been awarded under the EPSA competition. In 2011 it was awarded – Best Practice Certificate EPSA 2011 – for the programme of payments to credits for purchase and installation of solar collectors.
