Environmental and climate challenges, climate resilience, adaptation to climate change, and Polish green technologies were among the key topics discussed by Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Urszula Zielińska during her visit to Lithuania. The meetings were held alongside a trade mission of Polish companies participating in the GreenEvo program. The visit provided an opportunity to promote innovative environmental solutions and strengthen economic cooperation between Poland and Lithuania.

Shared Environmental and Energy Challenges
Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska met with Lithuania’s Vice Minister of Environment Aira Paliukenaitė, as well as Vice Minister of Energy Gabriel Gorbačevski. The discussions focused on current challenges facing both Poland and Lithuania, including climate resilience, water resource management, security, energy independence, and the safety of border regions.
Business Forum “Poland and Lithuania: Together Towards a Green Future”
An important part of Deputy Minister Urszula Zielińska’s visit to Lithuania was her participation in the forum “Poland and Lithuania: Together Towards a Green Future.” The event brought together policymakers, business leaders, representatives of academia, and stakeholders from the green technology sector.
Discussions were focused on how to strengthen the strategic partnership between Lithuania and Poland in order to build a secure, competitive, and sustainable future.
Participants in two panel discussions emphasized that climate action is now inseparably linked to security issues. Particular attention was given to the Green Eastern Shield project, which, through the restoration of wetlands and peatlands, not only helps recover valuable natural resources but also enhances security along Poland’s eastern border.
Promoting Polish Green Technologies
A key element of the forum was the presentation of Polish environmental solutions developed under the Ministry of Climate and Environment’s GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator program. Polish companies showcased a range of environmentally and climate-friendly solutions, as well as dual-use technologies designed to improve the security of critical infrastructure. These included technologies for industrial wastewater treatment, water biomonitoring, advanced waste sorting systems, air filtration, and smart city solutions.
The trade mission included 14 GreenEvo award-winning companies, which participated in the business forum and attended a series of B2B meetings organized in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) in Vilnius.
The GreenEvo – Green Technology Accelerator trade mission was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vilnius, the Foreign Trade Office of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, and the Polish-Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce.
