Thermal treatment plant for medical, industrial, veterinary and hazardous waste with thermal or electric energy recovery is based on rotary kiln technology with an afterburner chamber, combined with heat recovery steam generators and an exhaust gas cleaning system.
In a rotary kiln, called a gasification chamber, the process of gasification (combustion) of waste takes place. During the gasification (combustion) process, the waste is broken down into solid and gaseous products. The gas produced in the gasification chamber passes into an afterburner chamber also known as a thermal reactor.
The processing system consists of the following units:
• installation for washing and disinfecting waste containers,
• loading system,
• gasification chamber (rotary kiln),
• afterburner chamber with emergency stack,
• slag and ash collection and transportation system,
• heat recovery steam generators unit,
• water treatment system,
• chemical dosing system for feed water rectification,
• heat recovery steam generator feed pump system,
• exhaust gas humidification and cooling system,
• sorbent dosing system,
• exhaust gas cleaning system in the form of a bag filter with dust collector,
• exhaust fan,
• exhaust stack,
• continuous monitoring system,
• measuring station with connectors on the stack,
• central process control system.
Advantages of technology
The installation of thermal treatment of medical, industrial, veterinary and hazardous waste with heat recovery or electric energy production is characterized by modern technical solutions which meet the high requirements of emission standards and technological parameters of the process.
As a result of the thermal process waste are neutralized and significantly reduced in amount. Flue gases goes trough the post-combustion chamber and in next step are directed to heat recovery boilers where heat energy is produced. The heat can be used for the plants’ own needs, and surpluses can be sold to external recipients or used to produce electricity.
The waste incineration plant is a complete technology that ensures a full waste treatment process with energy recovery and cleaning system of a flue gas before leaving the installation.
The waste incineration technology meets the high requirements of the BAT conclusions in accordance with the directive of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe regarding the emission levels into the atmosphere.
The latest technological solutions developed by the research and development team are used in the process of designing and manufacturing the installation.
Potential Clients
Installations for thermal treatment of medical, industrial, veterinary and hazardous waste with heat recovery or electric energy production can be used in places of waste management activities aimed at their reduction or recycling. This technology can be used in the broadly understood industry, municipal or hospital units, in places where waste is generated, including also hazardous waste. This type of technology can be used in waste management with a need of heat or electricity. The range of potential recipients is very wide.
